polo central locking

I have a 1995 1.4cl polo 3 door and the central locking does not seem to work, i can only unlock the door from the passenger side, then jump over to the driver side, the driver side lock just spins in the lock and does not turn, and the barrell is very loose!The boot lock does not move at all, is jammed, and the petrol cap is always locked, i have to prize it open every time i go to the pump!

Please help!!!

does the drivers door barrel turntoo much as the lock paddle is a common fault also the cdl pump can get soaked in water and the terminals corrode
