Hiya everone,

Bit of a newbie around these parts... i have transitioned to Audi from Mercedes ownership. My first baby forced sale of Merc coupe and I haved moved over to aforementioned nice'sensible' family car :p Absolutely delighted with it.

Anyway, does anyone have real practical experience of living with a remapped ecu on a 2.0t fsi Quattro? I would really like to hear from you.

I am after increased mpg and acceleration (isn't everyone:D). Does this really work ?(it sounds too good to be true!) What's the catch? Why doesn't everyone do it?

Is there any risk of permanently upsetting my cars brain?

Cheers all

dont know if i can be of any help, i have a remapped 2.0TFSi but its in an Skoda Octavia vRS, the increase in excelleration is brilliant, I imagine even more so with the quattro drive train. Its a bit too much for front wheel drive in my opinion. On the motor way cruising i used to see around 32mpg, i now see more like 35 to 36mpg.

Not every one can be bothered to keep to the service intervals and the car is designed to run in harsh conditions with poor fuel. In the UK you see neither of them, so as long as you stick to your cars service intervals the only downside will be is that you'll empty the tank quicker when you put your foot down :)

Cant really speak for the companies that do custom remaps, but i know the likes of Superchips (and bluefin), Revo and Code Red do very good maps that rarely throw up problems and when they do they know how to deal with them. Im sure the smaller companies are just as good but i havent really had any experience of them

Cheers Dan.. sounds very tempting! I am weighing up whether to do it or not, One thing I am keen to avoid is destroying the around town economy with a re-map... maybe I am just paranoid!

Has anybody around these parts done this on a Quattro 2.0TFSI?

Merry Christmas all!

the only thing that will destroy the economy is your right foot, drive like you do as standard round town and the only difference will be better fuel consumption

I know REVO have a very good reputation, and looking on their website, it looks like they can squeeze a fair bit from just a remap.

I think in the near future, i'm going to have mine done ('05 2.0T Avant)

They quote 255bhp and quite a bit more torque.

255bhp is a bit optimistic, from my experience the 2.0TFSi remaps to more like 245bhp with the revo map

yeah they're a bit optomistic to say the least, are there any other decent companies, or is it a case of REVO are better than the rest?

to be fair i think there all pretty equal in outputs, just i think some exaggerate more than others, they all seem to be producing 245bhp with just a stage one map.

some offer different functions like blufin and revo's software switch but if your just looking for a straight forward stage one map to leave on the car you cant really go wrong with any of the companies. these days its a pretty straight forward process and the experience with remapping the 2.0TFSi is certainly out there
