Hello

Have recently had someone retrofit RNS-E to B7 avant with Bose and have noticed that the system is very bassy...on some cds/mp3 have to turn bass dial nearly all the way off.

Other than being very bassy the sound seems ok, able to go loud and clear.

It wasn't recoded at all when done, however someone is retrofitting DIS/Cruise in a couple of weeks and can do all the coding.

Does anyone think coding the RNS-E to Bose will have any effect or is the unit not correctly installed????? Or do people set the bass right down ???

Many thanks

I have BOSE and have retrofitted an RNS-E... I have bass turned almost all the way up...

When I fitted mine I had to move a couple of pins around in the harness. I can't remember off the top of my head but did your fitter do the same? Also the car needs coding to the RNS-E and the RNS-E needs coding for the car. The RNS-E needs to be coded for Bose. When you go in to the Setup menu, there shouldn't be a setting that allows you to control the volume according the speed of the vehicle as this is done by the BOSE microphone. I don't know what the menu entry is as I have BOSE and so haven't seen it!

fM

code the RNS-E for BOSE, so that may be the problem. Also, did your fitter move the Bose pin in the wiring harness?

Hello,

Not sure what fitter did iro pins etc.....may need to ask......however, the car that the RNS-E came out of had Bose and I do get all the correct Bose menus (ie not GALA). The car was an RS4 avant...mine is also a B7 avant so guess the unit has the correct settings........it is only my car then that has not been told it has an RNS-E......will this really make any difference??

Have tried various cd's and MP3s and they vary massively in bassiness.....this is something I didn't notice with the old Symphony II+
Is this a common problem or have I got some pins in the wrong place??

Thanks

The BOSE wiring pin needs to be in a different position when an RNS-E is fitted. You need to ensure this is fitted correctly and ensure the coding is correct.
