I had a couple of threads on here about problems with my Audi B8 58 reg (Reg Sept 2008) 1.8TFSI 160bhp SE.

Anyway the problems keeps coming and coming, had the driver side airbag system replaced, then the clutch seemed to slip, so took it back and they said it would need a whole new clutch, 3 weeks without the car....... and to top it off the airbag fault is back!!! :zx11:

So anyway i complained to my lease company and they have taken the car off the road and offered me a choice of new cars. Don't think it will be a Audi taking into account a) the reliability issues & b) the service i have received (or not received) from Audi dealerships. So it's goodbye Audi i will miss it, it was a good car, when it worked.

I'm weighing up my options now, do i go down another company car route or just take the cash alternative and get my own car. Seriously looking at a 2007 Lexus IS250 SE-L mmmmmm :)

The Lexus won't go wrong. Not as nicely finished inside though. ;)

I agree but it's full leather with heated+cooled electric memory seats, not as much room in the back as the Audi (which wasn't great in the first place) but this is a compact exec so not expecting much anyway, i just think at the moment it's a buyers market and you can get a lot of car for the money rather than the Company car route......... decisions.

The Lexus is a very good car. Spec and reliability wise they're great. :D

I owned a 2.2D SE-L before my A4 2.0TDI S-Line. Drive and handling wise the Lexus is no where near the Audi, I'd say the build is about the same with the Audi edging it (probably because it is newer).

Specs wise, the Lexus is brilliant, heated/cooled seats, electrically operated everything including steering wheel ! I am missing that.

Looks, the Lexus does look svelte but the Audi looks 'meaner', maybe it's the lower suspension and the DRL's. Still a great choice if you go for the IS250.

I cannot suggest which car to go for but now would be a good time to take the cash. Ive been in a number of forums and people are being offered peanuts for trade in on 12-18 month old cars. Dealers are desperate to shift anything too.

I have read that many dealers are concentrating on used cars too as new sales regs are so low and factories are cutting back on production in order not to have new cars sitting waiting to be sold.

I know someone who was offered £45K on a 14 month old R8 trade in when he went to ask about the V10 version

You could get something pretty special with the money on a private purchase Im sure.
