I have just had to replace the glass in the drivers side mirror.
An oncoming car took it out but denied responsiblity.
Anyway they are electric folding mirrors and to my horror after the incident not only was the glass smashed but the complete mirror housing was limp and could be moved by hand.
After a trip to the local dealer to my surprise a software reset of the mirrors returned it to full operation.
So maybe there is some collision protection build in?
However the cost of the glass alone was £195 + vat - ouch
