A “tick tick” sound through the cubbyhole

Hi,
I am hearing a “tick tick” sound through the cubbyhole for a short while (around 1 minute) when I put my key in to first position (i.e.: engine not started). Sometimes I hear same sound (for a short period) through the cubby hole while I am driving. Sound comes and goes.

My vehicle is Volkswagon Paasat Saloon (Year of Manufacturing -2001)

Could you please help me to identify this?

It could be a timebomb :zx11: :biglaugh:
Or more likely a stuck V71 flap. Take out the pollen filter and see if there is a fresh air/recirculation flap stuck. It should move when you switch between fresh air and recirc.
