chipping my GT TDI 130 Golf mk4

Hello people, this is my first post and sure many more will come. I was wondering if it is worth chipping my golf, at the mo i has 130 BHP and 310 torques, averages between 50 to 60 mpg's on main roads.

Is it true that I can get more power, torque and mpg's when chipped, I would like to read more about this if anyone has any tips. I have seen the cheap chips from ebay that cost pennies and 300 to 500 chips elseware online.

Any response would be great.

Try getting in touch with a moderator on here, golfmk5gttdi. I believe he had his re-mapped rather than chipped, which gave him better mpg and more power. As far as I'm aware, he's happy with it.

You can get more mpg when chipped, as long as you continue to drive it sensibly. If you change your driving style and go hell for leather everywhere, then it will not improve mpg.

Don't go near those penny chips on e-bay, they cause masses of problems. If you prefer a tuning box to a chip, try a DPT tuning box, I believe these cost about £325, whereas a good re-map can be done by one of the tuning specialists in the sponsors page of this forum for about £250!

I have a Sharan 130 whic I had RS Tuning remap it now does 180HP with 315lbft torque MPG is up by 10-15% (better)

He charged £350 and it's worth every penny, been elsewhere before and as the saying goes tried the rest now got the best.

Give Paul a ring is is a super guy and will make one to your exact requirements.
