Hello, I recentyly noticed over the weekend that im losing wuite a bit of brake fluid but i have not got a clue where the leakage is coming from. Could it be possibly from one of the copper pipes or is there a way you can check to see where its leaking from. I toppped over the wkend just over the min level and checked today to find out its quite below the min level.

Any advise ld be greatly appreciated.

Hi Have a look at the rear brake calipers, there are washers on the brake hoses, which tend to corrode, and can leak

get someone to stand on the brake pedal, whilst having a check of your calipers and pipes. if its not as kenney suggested, it could be any pipe or flexi hose leaking.

You can rebuild a master cylinder if you want - there are places online that can supply you all the fiddly little bits you need.

However I'm lazy and have really fat fingers so I'd be tempted to buy a new one (if I were you I'd steer clear of 2nd hand brake parts - or hopefully obvious reasons!)

i wouldnt even try to rebuild it personally. its probably leaking due to corrosion inside the bore, which wont be cured with new seals. it may alleviate the problem for a while, but will probably leak again. a new one wont be that dear from somewhere like gsf. it would also be worth taking the servo off and draining any fluid from there, presuming its been leaking into the servo.
