My Golf TDI (02 plate) has a flat battery which has left the central locking inoperable. There is no lock on the drivers door only the boot, but somehow the lock has failed and spins completely in the barrel. The AA man was a waste of time, 2 hours to arrive and he could only suggest breaking a window!! Can anyone suggest a way of gaining entry to the engine bay or of recharching the battery by connecting a power source to any part of the electrical system which might be accesible? From under the engine bay for example ? To make matters worse, I'm self employed and my toolbox & laptop are locked in the boot !!!!
:(
Thanks in anticipation.

You could try driving a small wedge into the top of the door and use a rod to pop the door pull on the inside.

If you can jack the car up remove the under tray and reach up near the osf headlight to the bonnet cable and pull it to open the bonnet.

Hi If you remove the lower engine tray, the starter with the B+ terminal is easy to access

Thanks everyone. We jacked the car up and got to the bonnet release. I had the drivers door lock blanked a couple of years ago after some scumbag broke into it. Never imagined that my boot lock would pack up at the same time as my battery (I left my glove box ajar with the light on while I went on a 36 hour party bender!!!!)
All I need to do is fix my boot lock now. Thanks again.
