Hi Guys,
I have a 1.9tdi 130 Passat.
A few days ago the coolant light came on after a heavy frost. I assumed that there wasn't any anti freeze in the coolant so I topped it up. When I looked there was no water in the resevoir:confused::confused: so i filled it up with anti freeze and water to the max mark. Went for a drive and check the water stone cold in the header tank? Heating works fine lovley & hot. Squeezing coolant pipes makes the header tank bubble so doesn't seem like any blockage? Temperture gauge doesnt go past 50 ...is the temp gauge bust? thermostat or water pump? The car has only done 60k would it be easy to change the water pump whilst having the cam belt done 2 birds with one stone?
TIA....
