hi guys got a passat 1.8 t 2002 model,any ideas how much a clutch would cost to get fitted,rough estimate would do,and it would be at a independant garage

Extremely difficult to say, far too many variables such as pattern or genuine clutch? Does the Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) need replacing, which is £540 alone from VW. Labour rates vary hugely between garages and according to location. I have seen people pay between £300 and £1200 for that job as you see it but not as a mechanic sees it.

not sure on dmf at the mo,thanks for reply crasher,any way i look at it its gong to be expensive

Sometimes if you look around you can find some cheap guys, they will be in rundown areas, maybe behind some point of interest such as a bank?
