Not since I nearly had a punch up with the service manager about 18 months ago!

i'm afraid its true - speaking to a VW dealer earlier this week, the Richard Alexander group went in to touble last week. Various comments about them still being open, but unable to accept new orders, and issues over people turning up for cars that should be ready for delivery but aren't. I can't say for sure what the exact circumstances are, as to what brands/showrooms are affected as a lot of it could be rumours on the dealer grapevine, i know a couple of suppliers who have outstanding bills with them, and they've said its going to be difficult to get paid out.
Its a good set of garages, i'm sure JCT or Sytner would be interested in them, and for the staff that work there, i hope there jobs are made secure in the run up to christmas, its never nice to hear of garages potentially shutting down.

Have heard of similar things happening with other brands.
Ignoring the fact that real people and their families are affected by this and that is the true tragedy, I would suspect that Audi is monitoring its dealers at the moment and will try and act as matchmaker to allow new groups to take over a franchise belonging to a failing dealer chain. No car company can afford to lose its retail base at the moment...:(

'tis a shame.
I've also heard that the factories are running on short time at the moment too

I visited Huddersfield Audi on Tuesday & its seemed business as usual. Roumors are not good in this climate as everybody needs all the help they can get.
All car dealers are struggling at present so the roumor mill is flat out at present.

Richard Alexander have been very very naughty, running up massive bills with local companies then coming in telling there staff they have been made redundant and then saying re-apply for your jobs with the new owners just to write off there debt, i also know of the Audi manager through somebody on my street.
I won't ever buy off them.

Yeah, the guy who did the Arval job with me was great... Speaking of which, Richard, is your dude at Arval still there? Ross who I dealt with seems to have disappeared.... I've not tried phoning him myself, but seems he's not there anymore..

Dont know anyone in particular at Arval. If I need them, which is rare i just call the number on my tax disc holder! Generally I dont go through them for tyres/servicing etc, i go straight to ATS/main dealer. I dont think they like it, but tough!
The guy at Audi Hudds that I dealt with is Jeremy Lovatt. Best sales they have/had IMO
