Hi ive just purchased some mk5 gti replica alloys with 225/40/18 tyres.
And was wondering if these wheels will fit my mk4 golf (lowered 35mm) without the need for spacers??

Any info is appreciated..

Cheer's.

I hope they aren’t too close a replica, the Golf 4 has a 5x100 PCD and the Golf 5 is 5x112.

Unless they are dual fitment, then there is no way they will fit your mk4...the golf mk5 pcd is 5x112 as you've been told above ! I would offer them to the car just to make shure...

dual fitment? surely the fitment stated is the only fitment?

All i'm wondering about is the width of the tyre as the standard tyre is 195 and the new wheel's have 225 tyre's.

A 225/40 18 on a Golf 4 with an 8x18 ET35 rim is fine BUT you may get some on lock rubbing, especially if the car is lowered. For 225 section tyres on 17” or 18” rims, VW specify that you must fit a reduced lock steering rack but in practice this is rarely necessary.

Rims are on and look awsome no rubbing perfect fit.
cheers for the info guys.

hi

hope you sorted out your problem. those wheels will never fit on the MK4 as they are two different stud pattern. MK5 is 5/112 Mk4 is 5/100.
