Hi ALL, About 3 months ago I replaced the pre cat LAMBDA PROB with a BOSH direct replacement. However 3 months on and the same prob has failed and in turn the car has failed its MOT.
I have been informed via the garage that the direct replacements are not the same as the genuine part. All be it they are both made via BOSH!!!
I have been informed that a NEW LAMBDA VW PART will cost just over £100 is this correct or am I going crazy????
Regards
Mat

Mat, £100 from VW seems about right, i've seen these come in at over £150! Not sure if the post cat one is even more! I've used universal ones on other cars with no probs.

What has got me is that the replacment I have used is a BOSH and what I will get from the dealer is a BOSH. Why should the units be diffrent as this is what the garage tells me. It just sounds stupid!!!!! Does anyone know the part number for the LAMBDA my car is a 99 (V) 2.0 gti 115BHP .

Not sure on the error code. They say the ECU cant pick it up and they are getting no reading from it. What is the easy way?

if you clamp the fuel return pipe or introduce an air leak tje lambda shoulr react to it,if it doesnt then the sensor will be faulty......did it say lambda sensor sensor 1 bank 1 no activity ?? if it did it doesnt neccesarily mean the lambda is u/s....
