Hi A mass airflow sensor is used to find out the mass of air entering a fuel-injected engine.Anyone with diagnostic equipement can measure the values.A faulty sensor will result in the engine loosing power. If replacing use an original VW sensor.

You can buy an original exchange unit in any VAG dealer

or you get a good quality one from a factors.
Pierburg are a recognised good quality german brand.
I replaced my standard one with a pierburg and find it great. Plus it was cheaper than the dealers.

I can recommend TPS (Trade Parts Supplies I think). I was put onto them by a mate in the trade and he tells me they even supply the VW dealers themselves but it's a hell of a lot cheaper to buy direct from them. They seem to have branches all over and you might even be lucky enough to get trade price if you ask very nicely...

Happy days guys, my car is doin my head in. When it rains the car losses so so much power and stalls a lot when u try and pull out of junctions. So i am having to drive with the flow meter unplugged, which means im like 'driving miss daisy', flippin nightmare. I bought a cheap one on ebay and the car wouldnt even tick over, so I sent it back.

Thanks guys for the info...

Hi guys, I bought one from a main dealer back in december, £65+vat exchange, ebay has 'em cheaper but alot of people have had bad experiences with these.

as someone said above, TPS are good, decent prices and genuine VW stuff too.
