Due to visionless marketing people at VW of America and probably VW of Germany, they made the decision that all Yanks are too ignorant to drive a manual gearbox in a Passat. I live in Texas, USA.
I want to do a conversion from an autobox to a 6 speed manual in a 2005 B5 Passat 2.0 Litre TDi Wagon. Would seem simple enough.
The US got a US only 2.0 Tdi engine, 8 valve for 2004-2005, the BHW, whereas Europe got the BGW. First question, can some give me the code(s) for a 6 speed tdi grearbox? Anyone done a conversion in the UK?
I bought ETOS software off ebay.co.uk, turned out to be bootleged without user support. Anyone ever use the real service www.etosinfo.com (http://www.etosinfo.com) ?
Off the top of my head I need a gearbox, axles, gearbox mounting harware, subframe, fly wheel, clutch. I can use the same UCU and use VAG Com to change it to manual gearbox mode. I can get everthing in the US for about 3000 USD and I can get good money selling a working auto gearbox.
