The ol turbo noise

Hi all

Now i know you are asked many many questions ref turbo's and ive looked through all of the threads but i just wanted to be sure.

I bought a GT TDI 130 on a 53 plate with 50k a couple of weeks ago, lovely car!

Whilst taking a cruise the other day the sun came out and i wound down my window only to notice the turbo whistling away between 1900 rpm and 2800 rpm ish.
I hadnt noticed it before as its the window has been up and you cant hear it at all!

The reason i am wondering if its a normal noise is because my skoda octavia did the same thing after 1 year but it was loud enough to hear with the windows up and it was found to be a turbo hose seal.

Normal noise or summit to worry about?:confused:

Sounds like could be a small boost leak or split pipe etc...

if the car is not running 100% get it checked over..

Ah see thats what i thought but i have no power loss although thinking about it the octavia didnt have any loss when data logged on a test drive.

Any common pipes/seals that fail on these?

The main on is the plastic one that runs down the drivers side of the bay go's to the top of the intercooler

ill put it in my workshop and have a look, are the seals replaceable or is it a new pipe?
