View Full Version : Auto lock, unlock - is it this simple?

I see some discussion about enabling auto lock function, but the threads are bit old now. I don't yet understand how to convert my software code into a binary code to apply the new setting, if that is what to do.
So, I currently have software code of 04750, I'd like to add auto lock/unlock, and windows down/up via remote. I see I should add +32 and +64 respectively, do I then just add these all together and enter software code 04846 via the central locking module under 'Recode'?
If not how do I do it, what I've read doesn't yet make sense, I know I'm being a bit slow to catch on with this, a simple explanation would really help!

yes - just add the extra option numbers you want to your original code number then recode

Ok then, thanks for the link. Just to prove it to myself and double check I converted my decimal software code of 4750 to binary 0001001010001110. Then compared it to this:
0 0 0 1 Great Britain- alarm system (only with bit 4)
1 1 1 2 flash on when arming/unarming alarm system
1 1 2 4 selective locking 1 door/all doors
1 1 3 8 activate alarm system
0 0 4 16 rear unlocking block via speed
0 1 5 32 locking via speed
0 1 6 64 comfort functions with remote (adapt in ch 62!!)
1 1 7 128 right side steering
0 0 8 256 avant (glass break sensors in rear side-and rear windows (if error: safe-LED constantly lit ))
1 1 9 512 1x flash when lock with remote
0 0 10 1024 horn sounds when lock with remote
0 011 2048 door/window-logic ( ignition off: No open door el. windows works 10 min )
1 1 12 4096 normal/????-alarm system
0 0 13 8192 No SAFE-function USA only
0 0 14 16384 insulate-glass PR-nr 4KR/4KV
Which agrees with my current set up, except for bit '0' which would seems like it should be set for a UK model, although it also seems to be linked to bit '4', so I'm unsure about these two bits.
Anyway, if I add +64 and +32 to the decimal 4750 to get 04846 then convert to binary to get 0001001011101110 and compare again it looks good and sets bits '5' and '6'. Eureka!
So I have to ask about bit '0', should it be set for UK model whilst I'm at it, and what might its function be?
Just to add: Adaptation for channel 62 should be '15' decimal, worked out from the link.
Thanks again.
Edited to add: I decided to go for 04842 in the end to disable bit '2' and set one click to unlock all doors now that auto-locking is also enabled.
All done and applied and working correctly. I couldn't check adaptation on ch 62 because it wasn't available, so that was unexpected, but its working as I want so will ignore that.
Thanks again for the link, it was the key to working it out for myself and being sure I wouldn't bugger anything up.

as long as you remember your original code you can always put it back again if it doesnt go to plan
