Hi,
Another N75 post I know - sorry - but I thought this could be of use to a few people.
The last time I played around with different N75 valves (6 months ago tops)... VW informed me that the original part N75C (034906283C) had been superceded by the N75F (034906283F). Fine.
After having a bit of a mishap with my N75 at the weekend, I rang VW to try and get an N75F (I had a J on and I've been having some problems - so I wanted to go back to the F) and they NOW tell me that the F was superceded by the N75J (034906283J) but as of 1995??? If this was the case, how come they didn't tell me this 6 months ago when I last spoke to them??? Not trusting one single dealer, I rang another, and they confirmed this for me.
Previously when I'd spoke to them, they'd said the N75J was a "manufacturer protected" part and that seeing as I had a VW, they weren't allowed to supply me with a part for an Audi. Obviously I didn't see this coming so I had didn't know to avoid telling them it was for a VW.
So... for anyone out there considering ringing VW for N75 valves, 1st) The C was superceded by the F, which has now apparantly been superceded by the J, 2nd) if you after an H or K valve... it's probably best that you lie and tell them it's for an Audi! and 3rd) for your info, i tested the N75J against the N75H and the J gave my 1.8T agu more bhp than the H.
Cheers
