Hi Everyone,

My 98' Golf Mk.4 TDI, failed its MOT last saturday and i have the following faults:

Broken rear offside Coil.
Nearside front suspension arm rubber bush needs replacing.

Also the car has never not started and having waited my turn at the MOT test centre for the first time in a year it didnt turn over, no sound from the starter moter.

The guy at the garage said it might be a solonoid wire on the starter motor and to give it a wack with a hammer!!???.

Would appreciate any advice re getting the car back in order / cost, etc, or anyone that could do the work locally, i live in Gillingham, Kent.

Kwick-fit have quoted me £230 for the bush and replace both rear coils (apparently both need to be done if one goes).

Cheers

Steve

Really wouldn't go to quik-fit (expensive), have a ring around your local garages and get a better price for the work. ;)

Typical with the starting problem at the MOT station. :aargh4:
