Why does it always happen to me? A4 is due to be built next week and it looks likely that they will now go on stike from Monday, typical:mad:
The wait is long enough without further delays......

With the number of new car sales going through the floor I can't help feeling that they are about to shoot themselves in the foot on this one. Major manufacturers are closing plants (BMW Mini Oxford) or reducing production days (Jaguar). This can't help their cause in keeping their jobs.
I don't know what the strike is about, and everyone is due a fair wage and conditions to match, but at times like these I'd be playing the grey man and keeping my head down.
(Hope your cars arrive soon. Promise it will be worth the wait)
Germany's largest industrial union has launched a series of co-ordinated strikes at automobile and electronics companies as it and employers spar over wage increases.
Some 8,000 workers participated in strikes at 17 companies, the union, IG Metall, said in a statement.
Car maker Audi was particularly hard hit, as 4,000 workers walked off the floor of an Audi plant in the southern city of Ingolstadt, the union said. Another 1,000 spots went unfilled after a nightshift ended at an Audi plant in Neckarsulm, to the west.
IG Metall leader Berthold Huber said the union could call its members across the country on Monday to mount a series of short-term strikes, "like the country has seldom experienced" if its demands for an 8% pay increase are not met.
The union has 3.6 million members.
On Friday the union's branch in the southern state of Bavaria rejected a 2.9% wage increase over the next 12 months.
Detlef Wetzel, a deputy union leader, told The Associated Press the offer was "light-years away from what we want and what we will accept".
Employers argued that the credit crunch and financial meltdown makes a better offer unrealistic.
IG Metall said its requested wage hike is justified because companies' profits increased 220% between 2004-2007 - a time when wages effectively increased by only 8.7%.
The union and employers are currently scheduled to finish contract negotiations on November 10 or 11.

Does this mean that cars recently produced may not have been made to Audi's usual high standards? I assume employee morale was down way before it came to the point of having a labor strike.

Getting to the point now after 8 weeks of waiting where I am starting to stress and wonder if i will ever see my order.

Come on guys you have had your fun!!!!!
Luckily i work in the Automotive supply chain so i get a full view of what shift patterns/ build OEM's are making. The only thing missing from Audi is the ability to watch your car moving through the system like you can with the likes of Ford.
