Hi, seen an A4 quattro DTM 2.0T for sale, 15K on clock 55 plate, i am suspicious because its advertised at 10K, i have not rung the number yet, but out of interest whats the difference between the DTM and the S-Line, which model was used as the base for the DTM. The pictures look good and its in blue with leather and alcantara interiour. Let me know your thoughts! It could turn out to be a cat D repair or even a scammer as it sounds cheap to me but am finding it hard to price properly.

I also saw this on p/heads thought it looked great and @10.2k cracking price. but i reckon there is something strange that its cheaper than a 2.0t sline?????

The DTM was a special edition model with 250 cars made. I would say it is based on the S-Line although it has a unique bodykit and the 2.0T engine is tuned to 220ps instead of the standard 200ps.
It has the 18" DTM alloys like my car in my profile and also should have phantom black mirror caps.
Bi-Xenon lights as standard- but no fog lights, and alcantara trim carbon fibre inserts, think of it as an S4-lite :D
£10k does indeed sound a bit cheap- saw these for sale for around £15k when I was looking a while back.

Ok, its only 30 miles from me so i will ring tomorrow, i suspect the mileage could be wrong 115K and not 15K or something else. The thing is, is it actually any better than a stock S-Line 2.0t, its 3 groups higher on insurance, 218g/km emissions compared with 184g/km on the s-line so it will be dearer to tax. I understand the DTM was 5K dearer than S-Line when new but the journalists thought it was not worth the premium over the s-line. Secondhand values are all over the place at the moment and not much is selling unless its priced competitively. Let you know the outcome.

Well you get the recaro seats, carbon fibre inserts etc. Plus the fact there are only 250 DTMs.
2.0T engine is sweet- not sure if the extra 20ps makes that much of a difference as not driven the 200ps version, but easily chipped anyway.
I would have got one for the sprint blue paintwork alone but alas there is no Avant version.
Audi bought out my S-Line SE soon after which has the same engine and wheels/brakes so it looks like there was a demand for this car when it came out.

I have just done an AA (glasses guide) on the DTM quattro 2.0T and for 15K on clock should be about £15K. And if the mileage is 115K price drops to £11K. Also did a DVLA check on the registration number and it was a non recognised plate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The plot thickens, probably one of these ones in Madrid where they ship the car after receiving payment, yeah right, we're not all that stupid are we!

For the sake of a 30 mile trip i would take a look just to settle our curiosity . It may be they been offered daft money as trade in and want cash for a better deal? doubt it but hey you never no...:D

Right then, i tried the phone number several times today and just get a single tone! So DVLA does not recognise reg. No. Phone no. is not real, enough said DEFINATELY a scammer. I could have contacted by e-mail but i don't want to send my e-mail address to some prat in south africa so he can bombard my mail box with sh*t. Beware, if its too cheap there is always a reason for it.

Ha! I saw this ad also. It got my attention because of its 'bargain' price.
Its on Autotrader still as of today.
I think has previously existed on this plate:
http://www.allapprovedcars.com/Used-Audi-A4-2.0-quattro-DTM-Edition-Saloon-4dr-Car-Bradford--crpId501997650-CarDetails.aspx
That was earlier this year at over 21K from Bradford Audi.
I've emailed the seller and got this reply:
I am glad that you're still interested, but first of all I have to tell you that I live in Germany now...my firm offered me a very good position to one of its foreign offices for the next 3 years so I decided to take this opportunity, especially since I have relatives here...
The car is here as well,I brought it with me as I had no intention to sell it initially.
Regarding the price,it's rather low because I want a fast sale,as I need a LHD vehicle as soon as possible.
In conclusion, this is a RHD vehicle, still under UK registration, ready to be shipped back, there will be no VAT or extra fees as I didn't export the car here...one might say that this is a british vehicle in a trip to Germany.
Drop me a line if you didn't lost your interest yet...
Regards,
Helen
..emailed back that I could easily nip over to Germany to view. funnily enough I have had no reply yet (3 days later)
..cannot explain why the registration number does not seem to be known unless the above is true. :Blush2:
I would expect this to be at least £15/16k as it has Xenons and Bose options.

yeah, what a crock of sh*t, who in their right mind would advertise their vehicle in a british magazine website, then say their car is based in germany. Is all they want is to get your trust via e-mails and then ask you to transfer x amount of money to a bank account and they will ship the car to you! Not so bad for people like me who can smell a rat from miles away, but i feel more sorry for the guallable people out there who will innocently send money and then not hear or receive anything. These people are the lowest of the low. Even if the car was in germany, if it was still registered in this country it would be recognised on DVLA's website, and it's not. Wan**r!!!!!!!!:zx11:

This little scam is quite common and well recognised.
It happens all the time on eBay- they will hack someone's auction and lower the price dramatically- I saw a 2007 530d M-Sport for £6000 on there once and got the same living in Europe spiel back when I inquired about the car.

Just took a look- looks like a cracking car.
Getting a good spec too- misano red, xenons, parking sensors, bluetooth all good stuff.
With the SE you also get black headlining, a MFSW, and the gearknob is punched air leather unlike the normal s-lines I believe. Should get drilled front discs too.
Doesn't say if it has BOSE- I think this may have been an option on this year though.
I can strongly recommend it, the leather sports seats are really comfy and I love the two-tone colour. Oh and the engine is strong and sweet- same uprate as the DTM at 220ps.
Go for it! :biglaugh:

It does not have the bose sound system. This was £12.5k only a week or so ago.
If red is your thing, and you don't mind the standard active speakers, its looking a fair bargain.
