no esp light, or function!!

I recently bought a mk4 golf v6 4-motion and didn`t realise the esp wasn`t working, taken it to the vw dealer, but they want to charge me loads to diagnose!!! Any help on that?
Also the back widscreen wiper does not work now since the visit to the garage??? checked the fuses, but theire all good!?!?!?:confused:

Look in the vagcom section for member close to you and get the car scanned.

When you say the esp is not working, what do you mean by that, you can't turn it off, or the dash light is always on. you will have to have it scaned to find out, what is wrong, i had a problem with my esp on my 4motion, i was told to change the yaw rate sensor which costs £398 from the delership, you can't get a third party one, did not fix the problem, woudl not refund me the money as they never fixed the problem, it turned out to be the break pedal switch, £8

First of all, thanks for your help guys!

Well, the esp light on the dash does not come on at all, i believe it should be a triangle with a kinda arrowed circle around it? I thought it might just be the esp switch, got a new one, fitted it but still the same prob.....
I had a look at the fuse box aswell and saw 2 fuses missing, fitted some new ones, which resulted in the abs test light working on the dash and one other light which i presume is something to do with the brakes, when i switch the ignition on.... I think the best bet will be to get it scanned tho, don`t you?
