Sharan main heater problem

Hi, I wonder if anyone has come across this problem before

Vehicle is a Sharan 1.9TDI Auto, 1998 vintage

The main front heater works OK on demist or face positions but if you try to engage either the footwell only or footwell/windscreen positions on the selector hardly any air comes through into the footwell and you can hear the air circulating around inside the heater unit.

Have checked cables & connections as far as I can and all seem OK, I can't find any blockage in the footwell vents either.

Any advice appreciated as my feet are getting cold at this time of the year:confused:

If you have pollen filter , than that one is very dirty and that's why you don't receive air thru the vents of the interior.

Hi, thanks for the reply, however I get plenty of air flow through to the demisters and face vents but none to the floor vents.
