Hi all,
I own a Bora '99 Tdi 110, but think this problem will be the same as a Golf so here goes:
I just went to swap an old Panasonic CD head unit with a Sony (few years old) and it pluged straight into the existing connections and all the functions worked OK. Then I noticed my doors didn't lock / unlock from the key fob, the fob was completely dead, as was the spare fob I tried.
I then locked / unlocked the car using the key, and when I went back in to the car the alarm repeatedly went off.
Now I have disconnected the Sony and no radio is connected - this seems to have re-activiated the key fob, and the alarm hasn't come back on, all seems fine.
But I still want to connect the Sony up - does anyone know why simply changing the radio is causing the fob to dissable and the alarm to sound??!
Thanks in advance!
Simon
