Boot Compartment Light

Hi !

I was pottering with my Audi yesterday and happened to notice that the boot compartment light didnt work.

A simple new bulb required I thought, but when I tested the bulb it was OK.

I then tested the live feed (brown wire with a fine sky blue line) and this was dead.

So...I thought perhaps a sticky switch, but when I followed the wires from the light they disappeared in the body work down towards the front of the car and not to the boot lid which I was expecting ???

I scanned all over the boot lid for plunger switches (like those on the door sills which operate the interior light) but there is no such thing...so what the heck switches the live feed to the boot light ?

I thought about spurring off the live switching wire that flashes the dash board light when the boot isnt locked but feed only senses the boot being locked or unlocked and I need one that is live when the boot is opened.

I am not so bothered the fact that the boot doesnt have a light...hell I can use a torch, but I am just puzzled to know what switches this wire (brown with thin blue line)
