my audi 1.8t se (2001 reg)has a whinning noise from eng/compartment for 30-40 secs max then it runs normal on cold start only ihave renewed the e.g.r valve but that has not helped has any body else had this problem that can helphttp://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif
