Hiya,

Just thought I would pop my inital thoughts on the A4 Avant;

Overall it is a good car, drives nicely, handles well and gets a few looks from passers by as well. I am glad that I went for extra's on the inside; the sat nav is good (not to Tom Tom level, but nicely intregrated, and works), the MMI is very good (again not perfect, but once you get used to the controls, very easy to use) and the button layout is easy peasy.

The cruise control (cheap one) is easy to use and works like the others I have used and is invaluable on motorway trips.

My only main gripe with it so far is the seat sagging (see other thread) and the wheels (standard ones) are not as 'eye' catching as they could be, but I guess I can always fit some my self......

It looks very nice in silver and I am glad I went for it; the other colours look very nice (red, black, white) but I think silver will endure the test of time. Mind you I think I will probably cry when the car gets its first scratch! :D

Avant is very useful for the space it gives, and a few people have said that for a estate, it looks sporty!

I am trying to avoid the mental trap that becasue I own it, I always see it in a posisitve light (I am sure there is some techy name for this....); but I think that overall it is a good car and would reccomend it. Mind you this could depend on how the sort out my sagging seat issue.......

Roll on the next 1000 miles! :beerchug:

Cool, thanks for sharing. Do you have the Open Sky sunroof? If so, how do you like it?

No problem; regretably I don't have the sun roof so can't help you there.......

Mines done 9000 miles now and I still love it although caught it on a kerb in a bloody car park exit ramp and put a dent in the sill on Saturday. Why the hell they put such tight bends and high kerbs in such places. So, a word of warning, if you are visiting Torquay and park in Fleet Walk, use the upper floor exit not the ground floor.

And Pastrybloke - you are right - I very nearly did - but just swore a lot.

I have the big a$s sunroof.
I love it.. I love all the natural light that you get during the day with the blind open.

I love a sunroof, -- I may have that on my headstone.

Here lies Jop
He loved a sunroof.
