Gt Tdi Clicking when accelerating

My golf developed a problem this morning, on the motorway i heard a clicking noise from the front end which only sounds when accelerating, ease off the juice and it goes away.

Could it be a cv joint or driveshaft mabye?

Hi,

If you have loss of power, i think i may be able to help you....but i dont want to scare you! Bit of a story, so stay with me ..:

I was going along the motorway and tried to overtake a car, it didn't boost the way it did before, everytime i put my foot on the accelerator, i got this rapid ticking/clicking noise (sound familiar?). Shortly after this, I was in a massive cloud of smoke - something went wrong, BIG time!

I limped to a VW dealer and they diagnosed the problem - the turbo had gone. I am currently in the middle of getting it fixed at the mo :(

As i say, i dont want/mean to scare you, but it may be a good idea to get someone to check if there is any play in the spindle of the turbo.
