Did mine a couple months ago to fit aftermarket Audi Parking Radar.
(A4/B6 2001 Saloon)
Very easy - was advised it's a two man job but managed it myself.
Get a blanket and lay it on the ground away from harms way.
Remove boot rubber seal - gently pull off
Remove Spare Wheel floor panel and then spare wheel.
Remove boot lip plastic cover - two bolts in spare wheel well and then 4 clips inside boot on lip - basically pull off making sure you still have the 4 metal srpung clips.
Remove boot side trim panels right and then left side. (Depends on model with luggage hooks - remove these, then metal lug at top bend back - plastic lug and pin remove centre pin then plastic collar - plastic screws on back of rear seat - you may have folding?? I don't)
Remove the rear light lens' - each held in by a "long" philips screw - unplug the connectors.
You will see a row of 4 nuts in a line down each side on each corner of the car inside the boot. Remove the 8 nuts total.
I managed the following without removing the rear wheels - assuming you have the right tools..... (right angle ratchet Torx bit holder)
In each rear wheel arch outside the car remove the two torx flat head screws near the bottom back edge nearest the bumper. Pull the carpet like sound proofing back a little to reveal two more torx screws - undo these.
Your bumper should now be pulled back gently and you'll be woderning where to put it!!
Put it on the blanket.
This assumes no parking radar - if OEM then you will need a hand to unclip the factory fit sensors from behind the bumper.
That's it - you should be sorted.
