drivers side headlight change

is it true that the headlight needs to be loosened of so i can change headlight bulb..
havent tried yet but is there no way you can get at it through wheel arch as it tells you...is it as bad as people say...
any pics anyone...thanks..sorry mk 2 tdi sharan 2003...

i take it you have a sharan...if its a mk2 here goes..

lift bonnet look at headlight mine was drivers side..on top of light unit it looks as if you cant see down behind light...that piece pulls of..it slides in & out ..
with this removed you can now see back of light..
you have a clip holding rear cover on this clip is at the top of this cover ..
undo it cover will now come off.
take power connector of the back of light unit then you have metal clip that holds bulb in place..
this is the tricky part just remember the way it goes...
unclip remove bulb & replace remember not to touch the glass on new bulb..
the new bulb will only sit in light one way once you have done this replace clip & do the reverse of your removal..
thats it should take you about 5 mins total..
ps..a little bit tight if you have hulk hands..
