You need to be carefull,as it is very easy to damage the wind screen. You start at the end of the cover and pull it towards you.If you cant manage send your e-mail address and i will send a diagram

They are always a PITA to get off. DONT lever it off with a screwdriver as you will break the screen (I have seen it done).

Well thanks to kenny’s help I have got access to the motor and linkage. But the bad new is the problem was not the motor but the linkage its self. I have just ordered a brand new linkage system from good old ebay. But since taking the linkage out and putting it back in nothing is in sync. This is not a problem for the moment as I will need to take it all back off to place the new linkage in. But when I place it back does anyone know the best way to sync it all back up so the wipers end up in the correct location?

Plug the motor in turn the wipers on then off and let the motor return to park park position (Before you turn the ignition back off). Then put them on the window in park position and do everything up.

Hi all
Similar problem 2001 4-motion with the slow wiper syndrome, i've removed the whole assembly but how do i tell if the problem is with the linkage or with the motor?
Any help much appreciated

AAArrr let me help!! Simply unlicp the arms that are attached to the motor. If the spindales cant move freeley then its a linkage issue. If you have the unit out its a 3 mins job. I promise!!!

Cheers for that, i took the whole assembly to my mechanic and he managed to remove the spindles from the linkage and lube them with grease, i just fitted it back on the car and it works a treat

Good news is the new linkage is fitted. But I have a problem with the wipers themselves. On the way down they go down to fare not muck but about 2 inches. But finish in the correct area what can I do about this ?
