Is there a specific manaul for the cabrio (1.8) either Haynes or Factory, if so where can I get one and if not do I use the Haynes for the 80,90 and copue for the basic jobs???
also any recomendations on upgrading suspension gratefully received

I would say , that the 80/90/coupe manual would be of some use, for steering brakes suspension clutch etc. An A4/passat manual should cover the ADR engine?
It depends what you want from the car, but lowering springs are usually very stiff and to my mind destroy the car's refinement. I have a set and they can be good fun when the mood takes, but a bit wearing, most of the time!
I would stick to factory 'sports' spec springs which are approx 20mm lower I think. From a 2.0e or 16v should be right for the front, not sure what a cab would need at the rear.
