There is a forum member - Devontopia - who hasn't been on for a while, but his 1.9 was running at 260bhp via various mods.

My guess is he hasn't been on-line because he can no-longer afford his broadband bill! Spending all his spare cash on con-rods and broken transmission parts! ;)
Just being cynical there but on a serious note: Audi always over-engineer engine & transmission parts to take more stress / power than the engine can develop. Lets say the engine produces 150bhp as standard, Audi will ensure the engine internals can handle 200bhp.
I believe pushing an engine to it's very limits is a personal choice; You have to accept that it will only last a fraction of it's intended lifespan. Extreem example example: F1 engines are immensely powerful but only last for 1 race!
If you try to run 200+ bhp, you will probably find the extra boost will cause the inter-coolers to peel open. If you upgrade them to Forge inter-coolers, you won't get that problem but the stress will be transferred elsewhere!
Hope that helps
Al.
