Hi there, 1st post and soon to be new member of the B8 A4 club.
After what seemed ages trying to decide between this and the BMW 320D ... I've got my Black A4 S-Line on order and as it's the one that was in the showroom, I should hopefully have it by next week.
I eventually decided that the A4 is simply a more modern and better looking car than the BMW with a bit more presence and I still don't see to many B8s on the road.
However, I was being put off with all the claims about the BMW being the "drivers car" and I know the active steering and what-not on the BMW is a really good feature. Don't know too much about the tech in the A4 yet, can anyone advise if the S-Line has any driving features like active steering, etc?
Really looking forward to the car and posting on the forum now.
Cheers :beerchug:

i think the big problem is the audi is front wheel drive (unless you go up the range for 4 wheel drive which gives grip but kills a lot of the rear wheel drive fun !)
the bm's rear wheel drive
no fancy gizmos are going to change that - the bm is a far better option if you value cornering ability on tight turns and driving too quickly with a smile on you face (4 wheel drive keeps you safe and gives you great traction so you can actually use all that power but it doesn't make you smile - and yes i have driven quite a few quattros in my time )
note i say that as an A4 owner - i am a private buyer and could have bought any car i fancied and still chose the A4 , so don't get me wrong i'm not dissing the audi for the sake of it
I have also owned several bmw 3 series over the years , and even a 10 year old bmw325i i sold a couple of years ago handled far better than my current 2.7 Tdi A4 - but i'd still rather drive the a4 , i don't spend my time powersliding round miniroundabouts and tearing along twisty a roads so the rear wheel characteristics that make the bmw so much fun to drive too quickly along twisty roads appeal less to me now (god its true i'm getting old .... ahhh i sound like my dad !)

Yes. The BMW will handle better etc, but the A4 is a much nicer environment to be in, looks better and costs a fair bit less for a better spec. Dont get me wrong, i dont dislike beemers, but i am certainly an Audi convert.
Welcome RD and happy posting

You made the right choice. When it arrives you can feel warm and smug inside. Look the image on that page is also the same colour as mine :-)

Standard S-Line spec with Xenons, Phone Prep & something else which I can't remember right now. Hmmm, I'll need to get the guy to list what all it has there, I took the showroom car because there was no delivery period on it so I didn't have much choice with my options but I liked the car and features anyway ...
Can't wait to get my hands on the thing now.
Thanks for the link mkc, good to see a favourable review against the Merc and Beemer for a change.
