Mk 4 TDI 90 - No acceleration.

:confused: Hi. New poster so go easy on me! My 2001 Golf TDI 90 accelerates like a snail on valium and HATES hills, even slight inclines. Never has been a flying machine, even when I got it with 7.5k on the clock but now, with full dealer service history at correct intervals and 90k, has no go at all. Even 1st gear pull away is desperately, embarrassingly slow. Any Ideas? I've seen comments about MAF. Could this be it, and could I find out without a VW Dealer plug in?

Try unplugin the MAF and driving it for a short distance. If the performance improves significantly then there's a good chance the MAF is faulty
