Hi,
I realise very similar topics have been posted with regards this problem on MKiii Golfs but I think mine is a little different and I could do with some help.
Basically the engine cuts out completely, generally on short journeys, and I am unable to start the car again for a couple of minutes. During that time the fuel pump seems to stop as I can't hear it pump when I try to re-start (Just to let you know I have replaced the pump & relay but the problem still exists) then after a couple of minutes I hear the fuel pump go and the car starts as normal.
So I am concluding a couple of things that may now be causing the problem...
i) ignition coil pack is on its last legs
ii) the immobiliser
What would you suggest? If the immobiliser is at fault can I by-pass it? If so how? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
