View Full Version : Question cam belt gone!!!

:zx11: HI, PUT MY 130 TDI IN TO HAVE THE CAM BELT AND WATER PUMP DONE AND ALL WAS FINE FOR 4 DAYS AND THEN MY BELT TENCHENER SNAPPED WHILE I WAS DOING 50 MPH!!!NEEDLESS TO SAY NOT TOO HAPPY AS THE CAM BELT CAME OUT THE GUARD WITH THE TENCHENER .THE GARAGE HAVE BEEN REALLY GOOD AND ARE SORTING IT ALL OUT (BUT HAVE GIVEN ME A BMW TO USE!!)JUST WONDERING IF THERE IS ANY THING I SHOULD LOOK OUT FOR WHEN I GET IT BACK THANKS:1zhelp:

Surely they wouldn't have used too much tension? Wonder if they replaced the tensioner... Bad news... hope they get it fixed good and proper. Do the valves collide with the pistons?

I know that the valves and the valve runners have been replaced, dont think that they will change any pistons unless one is cracked .I think it was the bolt holding the tensioner on that sheared .I wonder if they will give me a warranty on all the extra work ?

Ohh yes, and sometimes it bends a rod. I always check the piston protrusion.
