Good afternoon from Geoff , after 7 1/2 years of Alfa 156 ownership i decided it was time for something differant , so i have just bought a
2005/05 reg 2L FSI A3 . First thing my 2 Alfa`s never let me down always started first time , always stopped and always got me there , no electrical problems and the 1.8TS would make a glorious sound . And so to the A3 i picked it up from Reading on Sunday to drive the 200 miles to Cheshire , had just filled up on the M40 when the EPC light and the ESP light came on , the engine reverted to (limp mode) i got to the hard shoulder , the engine would rev to about 1500rpm max , after turning the ignition off and on a few times the EPC light extinguished , the engine then ran fine and did so for the rest of the journey , after getting home and switching off and leaving for a few mins the ESP light has also extinguished , i suppose my first question would be is this likely to happen again! and any thoughts on possible causes , thanks in advance for any info , will download photos when car washed and polished , Geoff .

hmmm strange, i too have the 2.0 Tfsi, been driving it for a week now and absolutley love it. Not had any of the EPC or ESP stuff happen though. Is yours the DSG or the Quattro?

Welcome to the forums btw.

Geoff it could be serious, you will need it checked with VAG-COM diagnostic software or similar. If it was bought from a dealer take it back and insist it is fixed. A fault code read can also be done at an independent garage or even at Audi.

Welcome to the forum by the way. ;)
