Hi,
It's not too tricky but (like any job in a cramped engine bay) the right tools, patience and energy will help.
First, pull the belt tensioner back with an adjustable spanner. There's a sort of lug on top of it to put the spanner onto so you can lever it around to remove the tension. You can hold the tensioner in place by putting an Allen key or drill bit through a hole that's on the flat face of the lug.
Take the belt off - remember the way it went!
(Disconnect the battery?) Remove the wiring from the alternator. There was probably some unique wiring connector with a weird 'click-lock' to get around.
I think my alternator had two long (6 inch?) bolts holding in place. The top one was easier! The bottom one was a pain. You will probably need a few different socket extensions of varying length because the bolts are so long and the space you have to work in is a bit limited.
With the bolts removed, the alternator may appear to be stuck in with super-glue. The alternator housing has bushes inside the bolt holes which grip against the mounting brackets. Use a hefty lever to ease the alternator out. Take care you don't drop it or hurt yourself!
That's about it really. Taking the bolts out is the frustrating part. Good luck!
(Any questions, please feel free to ask.)
Regards.
