A4 2.5TDI 1999 Avant Slow to accelerate

Car slow to accelerate below 1500 rpm in 3,4,5 &6 gear, very little smoke from exhaust when pushed hard. When on motorway if revs fall below 1500 have to change down to get rpm up again, otherwise acceleration is dead flat. Have replaced maf, fuel filter, air filter & cat converter, all no help. Car really slow on hills, ok on motorway at 70 mph. Can anybody help out there.

have you had it checked on vag com? it could be your charge pressure switch there are two of them one is located next too the fuel filter and the other is next too the power steering fluid bottle

Thats called turbo lag and there is no cure for it other than keeping it on boost at over 1800 rpm !
