just had my 170 a4 tdi serviced at 18500 miles,think there was another 100 or so left on the indicator.question is after the reset its showing up at 12600 miles till its next service......surely this isn't right for the longlife service?

IIRC it adjusts to the driving of the car. Minimum longlife service is 9,000 maximum 20,000

just seems to be a bit daft having a long life service and ending up back in around 8 12k months later with my useage.i was thinking they have'nt reset it properly on purpose to get more buissness

If they had reset it incorrectly it wold be showing 10k as that is the fixed service schedule.

its just i remember reading before if the reset was done manualy with the dash switches it will come back at the lower figure.
seems funny as the car was a demo with 3k when i bought it and was showing 18600 miles till service,surely all the demo would have seen was short cold drives and most likely driven that bit harder than normal.
i do a lot of short journeys allright but nothing like the cars early life at the dealers
