Hi all. This is my first pos so please bear with me....

.....I recently bought an Audi A4 1.8 TS Quattro that has been converted to LPG. The petrol tank had been run dry so it needed a new fuel pump. This has been changed today. The only problem is, the fan keeps kicking in once the car has been off for a few minutes and it is draining the battery so I keep having to jump start it.

I don't know if this is relevant, but when I use the key fob to lock/unlock the car, it seems to stop the fan for a couple of seconds, and then it starts again.

I have resorted to disconnecting the battery until I can figure out what to do...which is where you guys come in.

Please HELP!!!

check the fan control unit mounted to the fan cowling, there very common but i would check it before replacing it and consider the air con pressure switch also

normally is the thermostat that SWITCHES on and off the fan when the water temperature is above what ever the thermostat is rated at. if it was me I would look for thermostats around and replace them, or test them with ohm meter by putting the thread side of the thermostat in boiling water and having set the ohm meter to diode icon check the switch for continuity of two terminals. If you get continuity (low resistance) than your thermostat is ok. beware you have 3 terminal on the thermostat, 2 of them r speeds (high and low) and one is supply of 12... volts. sorry about my not so clear explanations.

good luck
