HI All, What a happy forum member i am as i've just had the RNS-E installed and all working by A8Tech!!!!!!!!!! Was toying with the idea for a short while but then got persuaded by Kquattro's install with photos, which then obviously made me sweet tlk mr A8tech at very short notice for the install.............. Nice!!!!!!!! What a result.........!!!!!! :biglaugh:
I'm now driving down the road playing mp3's with superior sound quality due to the Bose upgrade that i previously thought was Sh--!!! Sounds completly different to the old Symphony II........All i can say is WOW what a system :D.

RNS-E makes the bose sound sytem sound a lot better I noticed that as well when playing good quality mp3s through it.

Glad your happy with it mate, was that wiring harness off ebay okay then ?

Yes thanks for your link Kquattro!! :D All sorted and up and running. One question for A8 Tech or yourself the red dis does not show nav info but shows everything else, song titles,Radio stations etc. what does yours show? Bearing in mind i have not got the wiper stalk fitted yet!!!

The only ones that i have fitted and allowed the dis function to work have been 2007/2008.You need the colour dash.Both of these dash units are adapted for the canbus/infotainment bus to send the info but the red dash bug kicks in.Try the suggested methods on the nav link to see if it works.

Kaab0s adaption = Address 17:8E0 920 950 S channel 62 adapted from 17 to 21

Kquattros = Address 17:8E0 920 951 E channel 62 adapted from 19 to 23

Channel 062: CAN-Databus Infotainment (Installation List)

* +00001 = Radio (Optional)
* +00002 = Telephone (Optional)
* +00004 = Navigation (Optional)
* +00008 = Telematics (Optional)
* +00016 = Intrument Cluster (Standard - only coded with 2nd Component)

so adding 4 sets the nav display information.
I will add the concert/chourus 2 + units swapped with nav unit are less prone to the dash display bug.

The wiring is fine as the radio stations show on the dash.

There is no way around the 'red-dash' bug, fitting a clolor DIS is the only to fix it properly.

To add,both of these are lowline electrics with symphony 2,i have found high line electrics and chorus 2 + the best for dis nav display retro fit
