Hi, Could someone confirm if the new Audi A4 was only ever sold with the common rail 143 Diesel units or were early versions ever supplied with the 140 diesel units. The reason I ask is that my dealer has a couple of demo models but they are listed as 140 models. Any easy way to check under the bonnet ?

Also do Audis come with 1 year or 3 year roadside assist as standard

Thanks

Yes I saw this but what I wondered did the "Up to" meant. I thought it may have meant 1 year as standard and extended up to 3 years if you pay extra

I think I am right in saying that the B8 has only ever had a 2.0 TDI 143 (PS) engine in it. Some ******** and others choose to describe it as a 2.0 TDI 140.....the 140 referring to BHP rather than PS which is the metric equivalent.

Basically 143 PS = 140 BHP so it's the same engine!

I found the Road Side Assistance bit confusing as well. I read it that you get 12 months, but for cars bought or financed through Audi Customer services you get 3 years.

Definitely only the 143ps common rail on the B8.

With the road side assistance, I'm pretty sure it runs alongside the warranty so 3 years or 60,000 miles, so if you're high mileage it could be less than 3 years!!! You can still extend it though but Audi charges a lot for the extensions.

Definitely 3 years RAC cover as standard with mine. Hope that's across the board and not just that they think the 3.0TDI is prone to breaking down. :)
