Will Thule fork-mounted bike carrier fit on to VW Passat roof-bars?

I was wondering if I could use the proper VW roof-bars (which are 'prettier' IMHO than Thule's own roof bars) but still use Thule's fork mounted bike carrier as VW don't do one. Difference in price is irrelevant to me on this as I want whatever looks smartest/neatest/best.

Any help/comments much appreciated.

Yes you can, well at least that used to be the case.
If you remove the lower strap on the Thule rack clamps you use the "t" bar that's left in the slot on top of the VW roof bar. VW actually use the Thule system (or at least used to).
Thule also do an Aero bar that looks very simular to the VW one just in case you are still worried about compatability, or when you do come to buy VW accessories price suddenly becomes an issue...;)

Some older Thule racks (like the front wheel out type) need an adaptor kit to use with VW and Thule Aero bars.
