Hi

I have a major problem with the power in my 03 1.9 tdi sport estate. Last week i ran over a pidgeon and all was fine until about an hour later when (for the first time since hitting the bird) i tried to overtake. Car accelerated then died giving me no power. Pulled back into traffic but no power at all could cruise at 60mph max. Pulled over looked under car could see nothing. Started car all ok again for about 2 days then same loss of power. Took it to local garage checked underneath etc he said all was ok. Ran great for 2 weeks then last night acceklerating out of roundabout bang no power until i stopped car turned off engine then restarted. This happens very intermittently with no warning.

Any ideas please

Intermittent fault = get codes read at VW dealership - usually 1 of 3 things ( in order of liklelyhood)
1. MAP & Temp sensor £50 at dealership -2 screws + 1 cable swap to fit.
2. N75 valve sticking £37 at dealership fitting ticky - down under turbo.
3. MAF packing up £90 at dealership - easy to fit.

Get codes read.....

More likely than them 3 sticky tubo vanes. As said get codes read there will probably be 1 to do with boost pressure.
