Hi all, just joined - looks a good site with many knowledgeable VW owners.
Have a problem with 1.9tdi golf 1996 (P reg). Driver's door handle does not open door even though it pulls to the max extent. Feels like it is locked! Will open from inside though! Also cannot remove the side light black plastic bulb holder (after disconnecting the connector) to replace the bulb!:1zhelp: :o

#1 Welcome aboard!

#2 You'll get more views in the specific model forum but the door lock issue could be as simple as the cable popping off within the door skin.

I'm not familiar with the Golf door so I'm afraid I can't help you get the skin off but I do know once inside you should see a cable with an eyelet on one end which may or may not have come adrift.

Many thanks for your reply. Will get the skin off this coming week-end and have a butchers. No, I don't have a picture of # 3, but have a tip from a golf fanatic! Thanks for your interest in my questions
