Hi all,
Am wondering if any of you know anything about speakers cutting in and out on the a4? I have the 2002 2 din symphony system...
Toggling the volume tends to kick them back into life, however as you can imagine it is pretty frustrating...
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated... :1zhelp:
Cheers

Hi Simon,
Is it the front speakers or rear speakers or both that are cutting in and out?
If it is only one speaker then it is most likely down to the wiring from the A-Pillar to the door is damaged. If it is more than one speaker then it's more likely to be either the head unit it self or the plug at the rear is loose.
Check the wiring at the back of the head unit and take it from there.

It could also be that the door wiring loom connector that's located in the rubber boot between each door and the frame is full of Audi's nasty grease, which is causing a poor connection.
I recently cleaned my connectors with brake cleaner and haven't had a problem since with my speakers.

hey guys - thanks heaps for your help... it seems to be all of the speakers which it does it to... so just my front left might be working and if i toggle volume then the front right speaker will work, then toggle the fade and the rear speakers kick into life...
i will check as you have mentioned..
Thanks again!!
Si
