Ok, So my front O/S brakes lock on the other day. So I managed to get the car home after alot messing around!
Once the car was home, I stripped the brakes down on that side and the caliper was still locked on to the disc. I got it off in the end, the pads where breaking up, the discs where nackared, So I ordered new ones. When they eventually came, I took the caliper off and put it in the vice to attemp to wind it back (as I had tried before with the G-clamp and it was solid!) but this time it whent straight back. Confused, I thought that maybe it had cooled down and it was ok now. So I put everything back together and tried to bleed it. But I couldn't hardly get any fluid out atall, even after loads of pumping of the brakes. I then assumed that the caliper had cooked itself and got a secondhand replacement. But its exactly the same!
So can anyone help?
My guess would be that the ABS unit has sensed there is a problem with that wheel and cut the fluid to that wheel. If so, how do I reset it?
All the other brakes are fine and ive even bled the other side and that is fine.
